I have been interested in photography since the 5th grade. A week before my promotion to middle school, my dad got his first DSLR camera. He used that to take all of the photos at my school's ceremony, and I was pleased with the way the pictures came out. The same day as my elementary school promotion, my brother was having his middle school graduation. By then, I was able to use the camera myself to see what it was like. After taking some photos, I had fallen in love and realized that this was a hobby I wanted to pursue. I hoped that by taking up this hobby, I would be able portray my memories in a way that other people can experience.
Taking photography my junior and senior years of high school has improved my skills with taking photos. The given assignments broadened my spectrum and allowed me to be creative with the pictures I took, rather than photographing the same thing over and over again. They also helped me learn to photograph pictures I didn't know how to photograph before. Through these classes, I have learned how to adjust the camera settings to help me photograph something in the way I wanted it to be seen. In the future I wish to pursue this hobby of mine and continue to learn more about it. When I start travelling on my own, I want to be able to use this as a tool to photograph the world and create images like no others.
My portfolio concentration was focused on both fashion photography and portraits. The photos shown below are my best photos on these styles. Although this was my concentration, there was still a couple other types of photography I feel like I excelled at. Some of these photos include that of nature and landscapes. These are the best photos I've taken throughout the years, and they truly define who I am as a photographer.
